Protest to boycott voting for Assembly – 2023

Shivamogga: Today near Ambedkar Community Bhavan, we will boycott voting for the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections if we, the poor people of the Scheduled Castes, who are living in more than 80 houses, who are living as laborers, are not given rights to the houses in the 3rd and 4th turn near BR Ambedkar Community Bhavan. A massive protest sit-in was held since morning.

The protest was led by Niranjan Murthy RK, Sunil N, Ram Kumar R, Anup, V, Madhusudhan, Ashok, Satish Chinnu and village leaders.

On behalf of the district administration, Shimoga District Sub-Divisional Officers, Tehsildars, City Corporation Commissioner Mayanna Gaudru, Mahanagar Corporation Leader of Opposition and Local Corporation Member Rekha Ranganath and Corporation Member HC Yogesh arrived at the protest site and after hearing the grievances of the protestors, we will check the legal issues and immediately discuss with the senior officials of the concerned department and issue a claim letter as soon as possible. After saying that the protest was withdrawn.
