Shivamogga: Shamanth nayka, 30 years, Asyra Barangay, Shimoga Town and Sandeep Kumar Naik, 27 years, Bommanakate, Shimoga were involved in criminal acts like murder, attempt to murder, robbery, assault, dombi, communal riots and sale of ganja along with their accomplices. By arresting, threatening the public and disturbing the peace and order in society, by violating the conditions of bail, he has become a thorn in the side of public peace and tranquillity, and he has continued his illegal activities regardless of the fact that legal action has been taken in the criminal cases in which he is involved.
In order to maintain public order, the Hon’ble District Magistrate and District Magistrate Shimoga have submitted a proposal to Shimoga asking them to be detained under Goonda Act.
Later on dated-25-02-2023, the Advisory Board constituted under the Goon Act Act opined that there are sufficient reasons to detain both Shamantha @ Shamanthanayka and Sandeep @ Sandeep Kumar, on date-03-02-2023 the Government of Karnataka appointed the Hon’ble District Magistrates and District Magistrates Shivamoggar. The order is fixed and Shamanthanayaka and Sandeep @ Sandeep Kumar Naik are ordered to be detained under the Goonda Act for a period of 1 year from 03-03-2023.
