Shivamogga: The state government has sanctioned one acre of land to the Tirthahalli Kshatriya Maratha community and has issued an order validating the long-standing demand.
In this regard, the state government has said that the sanctioned land should be used for building a public community building, subject to certain conditions.
The Maratha leaders had submitted a request to the Home Minister Shri Araga Gyanendra to provide land to the Kshatriya Maratha community in Tirthahalli Taluk.
In the village of Surule Balebailu of the taluk, a space has been identified and the Maratha community has been directed to construct a community hall, organize marriages and other ceremonies and utilize the said land.
The members of the society have expressed their gratitude to the MLA of Tirthahalli and the State Home Minister Mr Araga Gyanendra, who worked hard to build a community house and allot land for the Maratha community.
