Shimoga: Principal District and Sessions Judge Mallikarjuna Gowda said that we should always respect women who are capable in every way and are the backbone of the family.
She was speaking while inaugurating the International Women’s Day program organized by the Karnataka State Women’s Commission Bangalore, District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Legal Services Authority, Women and Child Development Department and The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society Shimoga today at Chaitanya in Alkolada.
A woman is more powerful than a man, having the ability and responsibility to support the entire family. We should always respect such a woman.
In the past, there was a lot of discrimination between males and females. Women were physically weaker, could not work equally with men and were discriminated against in salary and leave due to maternity and other health problems. As a result of fighting about this since 1911, it was liberated in 1976 and got equal salary and other facilities.
Currently, women are emerging as equal competitors to men in all fields. The role of women is important behind a good family. He said that harmony will be possible if it is done in a harmonious manner without any upper jointness.
But today we see children succumbing to mental problems. The reason for that is that there are no family systems like before. Seniors and juniors do not engage in other activities such as playing and playing. Today it is not right that children are demanding mobile phones even to eat. The habit of reading should increase. It also increases mental health and knowledge. Therefore, he suggested that more attention should be paid to this area.
SMSS Director Father Clifford Roshan Pinto, who was presiding, said that those who move forward with determination and confidence will achieve something. There are many examples of this. The life of IPS officer N. Ambika is also a testimony to it. Explaining how she got married as a child and became an officer as an IPS pass after paying for her children and family, she said that if we have self-confidence we can make a better contribution to society.
Women’s Day becomes worthwhile when we do our duty by observing how we can bring confidence to the families who have been exploited in society and bring them into the mainstream. He hoped that our service should run as if everyone is equal in society.
In the program, Kumari Rakshita and Sindhu Sebastian were felicitated for their achievements in the field of arts, Anita Mary in social service, Soumya Gururaj in the field of business and Prema KV for their achievements in the field of special minds.
Senior Civil Judge and District Legal Services Authority Member Secretary Rajanna Sankannavar, District Panchayat Deputy Secretary Mallikarjuna K Thodalbagi, Women and Child Development Department Deputy Director GG Suresh, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Rekha GM, CDPOs Chandrappa, Shashirekha and others were present in the programme.
