About 89 years old, he created a short book called ‘Marathi Kunbis tribal study’ about the Kunabi race. JK Ramesh has recorded and released the experiences of Shanmukhappar in the form of a book.
What is even more special is that he was born in extreme poverty and did not climb the steps of the school as a child learned the art by practising letters on sand and tree leaves. There is no record of him going to school. Can also read and write the English language. These artisans, who are now suffering from age-related diseases, have donated the books they have collected to the library so that they can light the way for others without spoiling them.
The Gram Panchayat extended hearty congratulations to these donors and received the books as a donation under the book corn programme.
