Shivamogga: Finally, an organization has come forward to save Shimoga city’s only diverse biosphere and Brahma Vishnu Maheshwar idol.
Vasant Kumar of Save Ragigudda Abhiyan held a press conference about this. Ragigudda should remain as an environment. He demanded that the development project should be left in Ragigudda.
Three lakes will be filled with water from the 74-acre Ragigudda during the monsoon season. In this, wealth has already been looted in the name of ESI Hospital. The organization demanded that there is a desire to loot it in the name of development.
The Manjurati Patra of land given to various projects should be cancelled immediately. This area should be handed over to the Forest Department. It should be declared as Biodiversity Forest. Ragigudda, the abode of animals and birds that provide us with clean air, water and shade, should remain for us.
As part of the Save Ragigudda campaign, a jatha will be held on Saturday 25th from 9-30 am from the northern part of Ragigudda (Kuvempu Nagar) to the District Collector’s office, said Vasanth Kumar.
The temperature rise has increased by 40 degrees. To reduce this, this area should be declared a forest. There should be a referendum. Being a revenue land, there should be a plebiscite. People are being made aware of Freedom Park and the other 20 parts. Small Navule Lake is not preserved. But he said that a legal fight is being made for this.
